Katie Roemerman

Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Arts from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe. “My role as a therapist is to help my clients learn more about themselves and their feelings so they can thrive. I assist each client in learning about their unique strengths to gain self-confidence. I realize that each of my clients are presented with different life challenges. That is why I look to find “outside the box” solutions that are unique to each client, whether those solutions are through traditional therapy, art therapy, or play therapy.

Additionally, I recognize my role within the community and feel it is important to acknowledge the systems that affect my clients. Therefore, in addition to acknowledging the internal world of my clients, I also look at the systems that affect my clients. I will help my clients work through these systems by advocating for them. Additionally, I hope to assist my clients in being able to tell their stories and advocate for themselves.”
